WordPress 3.5 & IP Address Changes!

Ocala Website Design Customers,

If you are receiving this, you have a website hosted/created by Ocala Website Designs LLC. You may have seen some interrupted services this past week. A new major release of WordPress (3.5) was released and I have updated each of your sites in an effort to keep them secure. I have also updated a slew of plugins with each site, and will continue to do so, as they make them compatible with the latest version of WordPress. This is a lot of work, but is fairly common throughout the year.

The other item of interest is that hosting companies are running out of IP (IPv4) addresses, and the prices have gone up 5 times the normal amount for each IP address per month. (IPv6 is still not released completely) In order to not pass on any costs to my customers, or to be gouged even further as they continue to rise, I have been re-configuring each site to use the main server’s IP address (which is a standard configuration), instead of each site having their own dedicated IP address with an un-signed ssl cert (which is a nice-to-have configuration). I am half way through all my sites and will be able to do the others later this week as time permits.

Dedicated IP addresses are still available for those that need them for shopping carts and SSL certificates.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I have verified each site, but please let me know if you notice anything awry with your site.

Thank you,
